The closed beta of Valorant has gone live at 8 AM ET today. About 1.3 million enthusiast players are already tuned in to Valorant streams on Twitch. This is a massive launch day event for Riot Games, creator of Valorant. The company has ruled the MOBA world with League of Legends for over a decade now, and after battling Valve’s DOTA for years,it is now targeting their current most popular game, CS:GO, with Valorant. Excluding the fact that most of us are locked at home and just want something new to play, there are a few key points as to why Valorant has piqued the interest of so many gamers. Valorant is a skill-based first person shooter, where your trigger finger decides who wins the match. On top of all of that, Valorant is free-to-play so you can just test it out.
But Riot Games are also facing hiccups with the launch. Error and connection issues are preventing players from accessing the game. But despite these teething issues, Valorant has the potential to make a big impact in the market.
