“Saturday Night Live” or SNL is back with second ” At Home Edition” and Miley Cyrus was the virtual musical guest. With a special Cold Open by Brad Pitt, the singer opted to do a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” instead of one of her own hits for the performance.
Cyrus showed off her gorgeous vocals as she sang the 1975 classic Pink Floyd song. She sang next to an open fire pit, accompanied by guitarist and songwriter Andrew Watt, who recently recovered from COVID-19, and talked about his horrifying experience on social media.
Watt, 29, said he felt like he was “hit by a bus,” and developed pneumonia, but was repeatedly denied a test for coronavirus until he was ultimately diagnosed.
The mood and the music were an apt tribute to the pain and the isolation of these lockdown times.
In the second episode, “SNL” returned with big names across film (Brad Pitt), sports (Charles Barkley), music (DJ Khaled) and TV/former cast members (Fred Armisen, Jason Sudeikis). And that was all just in the opening minutes of the show.
Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider also appeared in Pete Davidson’s latest music video; Bad Bunny appeared in Kenan Thompson’s Big Papi at-home cooking show; Paul Rudd played himself in a FaceTime call with a fictional family member.
The inaugural Saturday Night Live at Home aired on April 11 with a special guest appearance by Tom Hanks who recently recovered from coronavirus and a musical performance by Chris Martin.
