2 Killed, 4 Injured In Shooting At Walmart Distribution Center In Red Bluff, California

Two people were killed and at least four others were wounded on Saturday in shooting after a gunman drove his vehicle into Red Bluff, California Walmart distribution center before opening fire on workers during a shift change.

Red Bluff Police Officials report that the Walmart Distribution Center Shooter was shot by police at the scene and taken to a local hospital.

Police say that at approximately 3:30 p.m., Red Bluff Officers were requested to assist the Tehama County Sheriff’s office with the call of an active shooter at the Walmart Distribution center on Highway 99.

Officials say two Red Bluff Police Officers and one Red Bluff Police Sergeant immediately responded and were the first law enforcement personnel on scene.

Police report that after arriving, a male adult shot at one or more of the officers multiple times. One Red Bluff Police Officer and one Sergeant used their duty rifles and shot at the suspect, ultimately stopping the threat

Officials say none of the officers on the scene were physically harmed during this incident and the condition of the suspect is unknown at the time of this release.

The two deceased people and the four injured ones were taken to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff.

The shooting by a man with “AR-type weapon” started about 3:30 p.m. at the Walmart distribution center south of Red Bluff, emergency dispatchers told the Record-Searchlight newspaper.

There also was a fire at the site, and the suspect appears to have rammed a vehicle into the building, dispatchers said. There were about 200 workers inside the facility, some of whom locked themselves in a room , employees at the center told the KHSL TV station.
