Celebrity hairstylist and Ouai founder Jen Atkin posted an email copy on Instagram addressed to Minneapolis Police Department demanding justice for the murder of George Floyd.
The letter said “My name is jen Atkin. I am a resident of Los angeles and I am emailing today to demand accountability for the racist murder of George Floyd.
I demand that charges be pressed against all officers involved in this heinous racist murder, including specifically Derek Chauvin and Tou Thao. They shouldn not be allowed to keep their jobs and should be charged and prosecuted to the fullest.”
She added the message “Click the link in my bio to send a PRE-WRITTEN EMAIL with placeholders for your name & residence to be sent to the Minneapolis Police Department heads. Thanks @maasaipg for doing this!”
Jen Atkin has openly supported the onging protest against racism and voiced in support of Black Lives Matter. In another incident the owner of hair-care brand Ouai responded To Washingtn Examiner reporter Fiona Moriarty-McLaughlin tweet in support of ‘Black Lives Matter!’
Fiona Moriarty-McLaughlin had written on social media: “BREAKING: As if vandalizing all the buildings in LA wasn’t enough @Blklivesmatter has taken to the billboards as a crowd of rioters roars in approval. #GeorgeFloyd #LARiots.”
“Made our sign every better,” Atkin wrote in response to Moriarty-McLaughlin’s post.
The brand founder also posted a photo of the billboard on Instagram expressing her support to protest against racism, writing: “I would have climbed up there myself ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 #blacklivesmatter.”
